NFL Sunday preview & free betting tips | Week 8

Heading towards the halfway point of the NFL season, divisions are starting to take shape and contenders are emerging. With an 13-match slate on the cards this Monday (AEDT), here are our top betting tips for Week 8.

Arizona Cardinals vs Miami Dolphins

With star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returning for the first time since Week 2, expect the Dolphins offence to return to its dynamic best. Facing the Cardinals, who are a bottom-five passing defence, expect the likes of Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane to have plenty of opportunities in the receiving game while Tua racks up plenty of passing yards.

Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Facing each other for the second time this season, the Falcons will be hoping to secure the sweep over the Buccaneers. With Tampa Bay losing the elite wide receiver duo of Chris Godwin and Mike Evans to injury, expect them to struggle on offence. The smart money is on Atlanta.

Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns

After losing Deshaun Watson to a season-ending injury last Sunday, the Browns now have the tough task of facing the in-form Ravens with a backup quarterback. Cleveland rank in the bottom five for points scored this season, while Baltimore are the highest-scoring team in the NFL. NFC North matchups are known for being tough, but the Ravens duo of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry should be far too good.

Green Bay Packers vs Jacksonville Jaguars

In one of the most dynamic passing offences in the NFL, Green Bay tight end Tucker Kraft has emerged as an excellent scoring option. The second-year player has caught four touchdowns in the last four weeks, averaging over five targets per game through that span. The Jaguars have allowed four touchdowns to tight ends in the last five weeks, so back Kraft to find the endzone at +175 with online bookmakers.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Cincinatti Bengals

With three wins from their last four games, the Eagles have seemingly sorted out the offensive issues that troubled them earlier this season. A key part of their success is running back Saquon Barkley, who averages 110 rushing yards per game and is coming off a season-high 176 yards against the Giants last Sunday. The Bengals are a bottom-10 rush defence, so expect Barkley to continue his stellar form.

New Orleans Saints vs Los Angeles Chargers

In a matchup between the best defence in the NFL and a backup quarterback, this game looks set to be low scoring. The Saints average just 15 points per game over their five-match losing streak, while all but one of the Chargers’ games this season have gone under the total points line.

Dallas Cowboys vs San Francisco 49ers

With just one win from their last three weeks, the 49ers have a great opportunity to turn their form around against the shaky Cowboys. However, with receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel in doubt, expect more responsibility to fall on tight end George Kittle. The 31-year-old has five touchdowns in the last five weeks, and given Dallas conceded 47 points in their last game, he should have plenty of opportunities to score.
