New Zealand Kiwis vs Tonga XIII match preview
The New Zealand Kiwis and the Tongan XIII will meet at Go Media Stadium in Auckland for an epic grudge match to kick off week three of the 2024 Pacific Championships.
Both teams suffered double-figure losses to the Kangaroos in their last match. The winner of this contest will meet Australia in the final, while the loser could be relegated to the Pacific Bowl.
The Kiwis opened as -222.22 favourites with rugby league bookmakers to win this match, having won six of their seven clashes with Tonga.
Stacey Jones has made two changes to the Kiwis side for this must-win clash, shifting Joseph Tapine to the front row and promoting Naufahu Whyte to lock. Griffin Neame will come off the bench, where Leo Thompson returns from suspension in place of Jordan Riki.
Kristian Wolff has made just one change to his Tongan side. Siua Wong is named on the interchange in place of Keaon Koloamatangi, who is on personal leave.

New Zealand vs Tonga betting predictions
The Kiwis have won all of their last four Test matches in Auckland against Tonga, and each of their last six games at Go Media Stadium. Seven of New Zealand’s last eight wins have come by 13 points or more, making the +160 with top rugby league betting sites great value for the home side to continue that strong winning trend.
Winger Jamayne Isaako was the first man across the line for the Kiwis in Christchurch last weekend, thanks to a set play that started with halfback Shaun Johnson. Isaako has scored five tries in his last four Tests, and -121.95 for the Dolphins star to score again is a safe play with Picklebet.
Tonga have struggled to score points in recent matches, recording just eight in their last three appearances. As their attacking woes continue, expect this game to have less than 44.5 total points scored (-111.11).
