New look Too Good To Refuse returns
A new look Too Good To Refuse will make his return to racing in the Listed Recognition Stakes at Doomben.
Trainer and part-owner Desleigh Forster has finally made the decision to have Too Good To Refuse gelded after tossing it about for months.
“I have felt for some time that his mind is on other things. But the (other) owners were keen to keep him a stallion with a view to a possible stud career in the future,” Forster said.
“We have always thought he could win a top class race and he has already shown he isn’t far off them in top Group races.”
Too Good To Refuse gave Forster one of her biggest wins when he won the Listed Keith Noud Quality last year.
“But I elected to miss the Keith Noud this year because I felt he needed an extra week to get over the gelding operation. As it turned out the race was washed out, ” Forster said.

“I think 1350 metres at this stage will suit him down to the ground. From here we can press on to races like the Brisbane Handicap and the Bernborough Handicap.”
Too Good To Refuse resumed racing with a sixth to Hopfgarten in an open handicap at Doomben on October 14 and was then gelded.
Forster will also have veteran Someday in the Recognition Stakes and she thinks he is racing well enough to score his second stakes win.
Someday won an open handicap for Forster in September which was his first victory since the 2014 Listed Brisbane Handicap.
“He looks well and has continued to hold his form,” Forster said.
There were 22 nominations taken on Monday for the Recognition headed by former Hong Kong horse Beauty Flame who is now trained by Melanie O’Gorman at Tamworth.
Beauty Flame was Group One-placed twice in Hong Kong when trained by tony Cruz.
