NBL24 Round 4 betting preview, tips & odds – October 19-22, 2023
The NBL 2023-2024 season season heads into round 4 between October 19 – October 22. With Melbourne United and Sydney Kings both slowly breaking away from the rest of the teams, can anyone else find their rhythm to compete for the championship?
Adelaide 36ers vs South East Melbourne Phoenix
Thursday, October 19 – Adelaide Entertainment Centre (7PM ACDT)
The 36ers took their first win of the season 89-80 against the Hawks last week, and back at home, they will be hoping to go back-to-back.
The Phoenix beat the JackJumpers in a one-point thriller 86-85 last round, and if they are to win another here, they will need captain Mitch Creek to lead again, along with bench player Matt Kenyon ready to score as he did in that win (10pts 2/4 3PM).

Illawarra Hawks v Melbourne United
Friday, October 20 – WIN Entertainment Centre (7:30PM AEDT)
The Hawks have started their season 1-3, and coach Jackomas will have the group ready to fire after their only other win being at home, 113-106 against the Phoenix. Robinson and Harvey sank more than 20 points in that win and will need to fire to beat this united unit from Melbourne.
The United are at the top of the ladder with the defending champions, the Kings, on four wins and a loss, and will look to take the lead alone with a big win here as the squad kicks into another gear.

South East Melbourne Phoenix v Brisbane Bullets
Saturday, October 21 – John Cain Arena (5:30PM AEDT)
Both of Phoenix’s wins have been at home as the Mick Kelly-coached side looks to strengthen John Cain Arena as a fortress. In round two, they beat the Perth Wildcats 110-99, and in the last round, they pimped the JackJumpers by a point against the resurgent Tasmanian outfit.
The Brisbane Bullets were delivered the news that they would be without Big Man and Boomer Aron Baynes for five games due to inappropriate conduct during the loss to the Cairns Taipans. They then went down to the Kings 113-102 two days later before heading to Melbourne and going down to United 89-79 on Sunday.

Adelaide 36ers v Perth Wildcats
Saturday, October 21 – Adelaide Entertainment Centre (7:30PM ACDT)
Adelaide with the second home game of the round, allowing Cadee and his men to work on combinations and utilise the 36er fan base to their advantage against a side that is powerful and potent on any given day.
The Wildcats come off a round three they would rather forget, with losses to the Melbourne United 88-81 and the Sydney Kings 99-86 on the road. The Bryce Cotton-led side will be looking to get another W and will need former Taipan Keanu Pinder to explode once again.

Melbourne United v New Zealand Breakers
Sunday, October 22 – John Cain Arena (2PM AEDT)
Melbourne United will look to get their final chances strengthened early on and look to make it four straight wins after an expected win against the Hawks. This clash could be huge given the Breakers ability to upset the AppleCart.
The Breakers will touch down in Melbourne after playing the Utah Jazz on Tuesday in the NBA-NBA preseason tournament. Last time out, in the NBL, they went down to the Bullets 89-84, but that was without key piece in captain Finn Delaney.

Sydney Kings v Tasmania JackJumpers
Sunday, October 22 – Qudos Bank Arena (4PM AEDT)
This clash has the potential to be the game of the round! Kings at the top of the ladder with four wins and one loss while the JackJumpers sit fourth with three wins and two losses.
Last time these two sides met, the JackJumpers were 80-72 winners, but this one should be even tighter. Battle of the Guards: Jaylin Adams vs. Milton Doyle, Jack McVeigh vs. Jaylin Galloway, or game breakers in Jonah Bolden and Anthony Drmic— take your pick as this game is set up to take NBL24 to a whole new level.
