NBL Round 9 betting preview, match predictions & free tips
The NBL continues this weekend with seven matches of quality Australian basketball. See our free betting tips for round nine of the 2023-24 NBL season.
New Zealand Breakers vs Adelaide 36ers
Thursday, November 30 – 7:30pm NZDT – Wolfbrook Arena
Sitting at the bottom of the NBL standings, the New Zealand Breakers will need to put together a strong performance on Thursday night as they welcome the Adelaide 36ers. It should be an exciting showdown between star guards Parker Jackson-Cartwright and Dejan Vasiljevic as they look to keep their respective teams’ finals hopes alive.
Cairns Taipans vs Brisbane Bullets
Friday, December 1 – 6:30pm AEST – Cairns Convention Centre
Both Queensland teams are desperate for a victory. With just one win from their last five matches, the Taipans are low on confidence and have fallen to seventh in the standings. The Bullets have also struggled with form, losing their last three matches. An unpredictable matchup, this one should be close.
Perth Wildcats vs Sydney Kings
Friday, December 1 – 6:30pm AWST – RAC Arena
The Perth Wildcats have rebounded well from their terrible start to the season, winning their last five matches in a row. Looking to continue their streak, the Wildcats welcome a Sydney Kings side that sits second on the NBL ladder. An exciting battle between MVP favourites Bryce Cotton and Jaylen Adams awaits.
South East Melbourne Phoenix vs New Zealand Breakers
Saturday, November 2 – 5:30pm AEDT – John Cain Arena
It’s a quick turnaround for the New Zealand Breakers as they travel to Melbourne on Saturday to face the Phoenix. Another side down on form of late, the Phoenix have just one win from their last four matches and will be looking to capitalise against the struggling Breakers. The worst rebounding side in the NBL, the Breakers will need to watch out for SEM centre Alan Williams, who leads the league in rebounds.
Tasmania JackJumpers vs Adelaide 36ers
Saturday, November 2 – 8pm AEDT – MyState Bank Arena
After jumping up to third in the standings, the JackJumpers have an excellent opportunity to continue their good run of form as they face the struggling 36ers this weekend. Backing up from their match in New Zealand on Thursday, the 36ers need to ensure they can get at least one win this weekend or their season may slip away.
Melbourne United vs Cairns Taipans
Sunday, December 3 – 2pm AEDT – John Cain Arena
Sitting comfortably at the top of the standings, Melbourne United are firm favourites with NBL bookmakers for their clash with the Taipans on Sunday afternoon. In the first matchup between these sides this season, the Taipans will be hoping they can turn their recent poor form around. Averaging 28.5 points across his last four matches, watch out for United’s Chris Goulding on the perimeter.
Brisbane Bullets vs Illawarra Hawks
Sunday, December 3 – 3pm AEDT – Nissan Arena
Wrapping up round nine, the Brisbane Bullets welcome the last-placed Illawarra Hawks to Nissan Arena. Fresh off winning a low-scoring contest against the Breakers last round, the Hawks should be full of confidence as they face a Bullets outfit in freefall. Playing their second match of the weekend, the Bullets will be confident of a result after winning their past three matches against the Hawks.
