Muswellbrook trainer Lewis Seib dies
The Muswellbrook Race Club will hold a benefit night to support the family of popular local trainer Lewis Seib who has died from brain cancer aged 60.
Seib, who had trained at Muswellbrook for 45 years, was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer on May 3 and died on Saturday.
“Lewis was a true gentleman of the racing industry and one of the most well liked trainers in this area,” MRC general manager Duane Dowell said.
“His quiet and gentle nature will be sorely missed here at Skellatar Park.
“Flags will fly at half-mast at Friday’s race meeting at Muswellbrook with a race scheduled to honour Lewis at the club’s Queen of the Valley Matchmaker race day on Sunday 18th June.”
A percentage of the proceeds from the benefit night on July 29 will go to the Mark Hughes Foundation which raises funds for brain cancer.
