Multi tips, bookie bonuses and value bets for AFL Round 22
FOR the second week in a row, BettingSite.com.au AFL multi investors got a healthy return on their bets.
In round 21 we compiled a +278 multi that generated a dividend, and at no point throughout did we feel stressed given most matches were over at three-quarter-time.
This week we are seeking the hat-trick and we believe we have the right formula to deliver the goods.
Let’s get stuck into it.
Selections for the Round 22 AFL multi of the week:
Adelaide Crows to beat Sydney Swans (-153.85)
Essendon Bombers to win against the Gold Coast Suns (-285.71)
St Kilda Saints to beat the North Melbourne Kangaroos (-238.1)
Richmond Tigers to win against the Fremantle Dockers (-256.41)
Combined multi value: +339 @ Sportsbet.com.au
Adelaide Crows vs. Sydney Swans
Friday, August 18 from 7.50pm AEST, Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
The top of the table Crows are looking to maintain an incredible undefeated run of seven straight games against the Sydney Swans at Adelaide Oval on Friday night.
Adelaide returns home, where they are undefeated against the Swans, after a consummate professional performance against Essendon. The Crows jumped out to an early lead and were never truly threatened by the Dons.
Sydney hammered Fremantle at the SCG by triple figures – the club’s biggest win of season 2017. The game was as good as over 10 minutes into the contest after the Swans put on a rampaging performance.
This one is without question the match of the round but we are favouring the Crows here. The home ground is a massive advantage and the prospect of locking away the minor premiership is too big of an incentive for the South Australians.
Adelaide Crows to win – $1.65
Gold Coast Suns vs. Essendon Bombers
Saturday, August 19 from 7.25pm AEST, Metricon Stadium, Gold Coast
The Bombers are playing for their finals lives while the injury-ravaged Suns are looking to restore some pride after another failed season.
The Dons were not disgraced in defeat to the ladder-leading Crows last week, and they still hold hopes of making the finals. Whilst they are not the incumbent holders of the position, however, they can not afford to drop any games.
The Suns confirmed early in the week that dual Brownlow Medallist Gary Ablett would not play on Saturday. He joins fellow superstar Tom Lynch on the sidelines for this clash.
The Bombers simply have to win against an under-strength Suns line up and we think they will. Essendon should keep us rolling into the third leg.
Essendon Bombers to win – $1.35
St Kilda Saints vs. North Melbourne Kangaroos
Sunday, August 20 from 3.20pm AEST, Etihad Stadium, Melbourne
The Saints and the Roos clash under the Etihad roof in the third leg of our multi.
Their chances may be slim, but St Kilda still can potentially make the final eight this season. After going down to the Dees last week they would still need everything to go their way, and winning on Sunday would ensure they remain in the hunt.
The Roos are no easybeats this season, however, despite having just five wins to their name this season. Spearhead Ben Brown has been a revelation up forward and still remains in contention for the Coleman Medal.
If the Saints harbour any realistic hopes of playing finals this season they cannot afford to drop this match. We think the stakes are too high for St Kilda, who should easily account for the struggling Roos.
St Kilda Saints to win – $1.62
Fremantle Dockers vs. Richmond Tigers
Sunday, August 20 from 4.40pm AEST, Domain Stadium, Perth
Can the Dockers make their final-ever game at Domain Stadium one to remember, or will the Tigers go one step closer to securing a top-four berth in the final match of round 22?
Fremantle needs an instant response after one of its poorest performances in recent memory against the Swans. The Dockers went down by 104 points in a match they were largely noncompetitive in.
Richmond were disappointing in their loss to an under-strength Geelong last week, but a win in the nation’s west could help sure up their top-four status.
This looms as a must-win for Richmond if the club is to be a serious contender in 2017. We think the Tigers will have too much firepower for the Dockers.
Richmond Tigers to win – $1.39
