Multi tips and Chase the Ace bonuses for Australian Open Day 3
THERE has certainly been no threat of missed matches throughout the opening two days of the Australian Open as players and crowds have had sensational sunshine to bask in at Melbourne Park.
All the big players progressed through relatively unscathed from day one, except for number four seed Simone Halep, who was beaten by American Shelby Rogers in her first ever Australian Open win.
On day three we’re backing some big names to get the job done for us.
A former Australian Open champion is looking to get on track after a shaky opening round display, while three players who are ranked significantly higher than their Wednesday opponents should salute for us.
It promises to be an entertaining day of tennis at Melbourne Park.
All odds for day three of the 2017 Australian Open were provided by WilliamHill.com.au, which is running the Chase the Ace promotion all the way through the first Grand Slam tournament of the new year.
Place a $25 or more head-to-head bet on the 2017 Australian Open Tennis Men’s and Women’s Singles Tournaments and receive up to $10 in Bonus Bets for every ace your player serves.
Selections for the Day 3 Wednesday Australian Open multi:
Stan Wawrinka to defeat Steve Johnson ($1.29)
Monica Puig to beat Mona Barthel ($1.50)
Carla Suarez Navarro to progress past Sorana Cirstea ($1.40)
Eugenie Bouchard to defeat Shuai Peng ($1.44)
Combined multi value: $3.90 @ WilliamHill.com.au
Stan Wawrinka vs Steve Johnson
2014 Australian Open champion Stan Wawrinka faces dangerous American Steve Johnson in the second round at Melbourne Park.
The world number four Wawrinka survived a massive scare to defeat Martin Klizan in five sets. However, those questioning the Swiss star at this early stage need not fret, the three-time grand slam winner tends to ease into the bigger tournaments rather than hitting the ground running.
Steve Johnson had an easy progression through to the second round after he swept aside Federico Delbonis in three sets.
Johnson could present a challenge to Stan but he is a class above the American and the former winner should make it through to the third round.

Monica Puig vs Mona Barthel
Monica Puig faces Mona Barthel in the second leg of our day three Oz Open multi.
The world number 46 Puig absolutely breezed through to the second round on Monday, dropping just one game Patricia Maria Tig.
Mona Barthel has had to do it the hard way to get to this year’s Australian Open, going through the qualifying stage but the lowly ranked German is yet to drop a set en route to the second round.
Puig represents a massive step up in class however. There is 56 other players ranked between Puig and Barthel and we are backing the Puerto Rican to make it through to the third round.

Sorana Cirstea vs Carla Suarez Navarro
Romanian Sorana Cirstea and Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro meet in the second round of the Australian Open, and the world number 12 Suarez Navarro has a score to settle against her much lower ranked opponent.
The pair have met four times across their respective careers and the 26-year-old Cirstea holds a three win advantage over her opponent, but the duo have not played each other since 2009.
Suarez Navarro has shown exponential improvement since they last met while Cirstea has regressed in her career. It is easy to see why the bookies are favouring the Spaniard heavily.
We are backing Carla Suarez Navarro to run through the world number 78 to keep our multi rolling into the final leg.

Eugenie Bouchard vs Shuai Peng
Aussie fan favourite Eugenie Bouchard tackles Chinese veteran Shuai Peng in the final leg of our day three multi.
Bouchard has had a terrific 2017 season thus far. The 22-year-old Canadian made it through to the semi-final of the Sydney International before discarding of Louisa Chirico in the opening round of the Australian Open on Monday in straight sets.
Shuai Peng progressed through to the second round in straight sets but had to overcome Daria Kasatkina in a tense second set tie-break.
The pair have met once on the WTA tour, which Bouchard won in straight sets and we are predicting a similar outcome here to polish off our day three multi.
