More milestones for trainer Tony Gollan
NotOnYourLife has become the first pregnant mare Tony Gollan has trained to win a race.
Premier Brisbane trainer Tony Gollan is charging towards many milestones this season but Notonyourlife’s win at Doomben is one that stands out.
Gollan should bring up his 1000th career win this season as he sits on 938 after a double at Doomben on Saturday.
He is also well on the way to 500 metropolitan winners and his fifth Brisbane premiership.
Notonyourlife’s win in the Listed Ubet Classic was his 40th stakes winner including three at Group One level but was also the first time he could remember winning a race with a mare in foal.
He trains Notonyourlife for the McAlpine family who run Eureka Stud and she is in foal to their Doomben 10,000 winning stallion Spirit Of Boom.
Gollan gave all the credit to Eureka studmaster Scott McAlpine.
“Scott timed the service so Notonyourlife could race in the summer fillies and mares races to chase black-type,” Gollan said.
“To get black-type first try was a real result for the McAlpines.”
