Miami Grand Prix 2025 betting tips & predictions

F1 Miami 2025 BS

The Formula 1 grid heads back to the United States for the second sprint weekend of the 2025 season as the Miami Grand Prix lights up the calendar.

Practice begins at 2:30am AEST on Saturday, May 3, followed by sprint qualifying at 6:30am AEST. The sprint race and grand prix qualifying will take place on Sunday, with the main race scheduled for 6am AEST on Monday, May 5.

Held at the Miami International Autodrome around Hard Rock Stadium, this fast and flowing street circuit is known for tight corners, long straights, and unpredictable weather.

With the championship race heating up, McLaren remain the form team of the season, led by Oscar Piastri’s three race wins. While Lando Norris has shown strong race pace, improved qualifying will be key if he’s to consistently challenge at the front.

Both drivers will be excited for the Miami Grand Prix — a circuit that suits McLaren’s strengths, and where Norris claimed his maiden F1 victory last year.

Mercedes continue to demonstrate strong one-lap pace, with George Russell consistently delivering in qualifying and young Kimi Antonelli proving he belongs at the top level with composed performances.

Ferrari, meanwhile, remain inconsistent — Charles Leclerc has been the more dependable of the pair, while Lewis Hamilton is still adjusting and has yet to fully find his rhythm in red.

Max Verstappen remains a threat on any circuit, but Red Bull are clearly chasing answers with their 2025 car. A big weekend from the Dutchman is needed to stay in touch with the championship leaders.

2025 Miami Grand Prix odds

McLaren again top the betting for the Miami Grand Prix, with Norris and Piastri sharing favouritism. Red Bull’s Verstappen trails slightly at longer odds.

Miami GP 2025 betting predictions

Lando Norris (McLaren) to win

Lando Norris is arguably the fastest driver on track right now, regularly slicing through the top 10 with ease during recent races. However, his challenges have been poor qualifying, often leaving him with too much ground to make up. If he can secure a spot on one of the front two rows, he’ll be well positioned to launch a genuine challenge for the win.

George Russell (Mercedes) podium finish

Once again, online bookmakers appear to be undervaluing the form. George Russell continues to outperform the capabilities of his Mercedes and, at $2.40, presents excellent value for another podium finish. Not only is his race pace impressive, but he’s also consistently qualifying near the front.

Alex Albon (Williams) top-six finish

Williams are shaping up as a genuine dark horse in 2025, with flashes of impressive pace and a growing consistency in scoring points. They’ve already managed a top-six start this season and look well placed to repeat that feat in Miami. If they can out-qualify Yuki Tsunoda and avoid early traffic, a strong points haul is definitely on the cards.
