Melbourne Renegade vs Perth Scorchers BBL match preview
Match four of BBL13 takes place in Geelong on Sunday evening, with the Melbourne Renegades hosting the Perth Scorchers at GHMBA Stadium.
After suffering a last-over loss to the Sixers in Sydney on Friday night, the Melbourne Renegades will be eager to bounce back with a win at their home ground. However, the Scorchers will be looking to start their campaign for back-to-back championships in winning fashion.
The visitors have added opener Stephen Eskinazi to their heavily talented line-up and will be a brilliant replacement for former teammate Cameron Bancroft. The Renegades will be hopeful that Kane Richardson and Mujeeb Ur Rahman can improve their form to assist Will Sutherland in the bowling department.

Renegades vs Scorchers betting strategy
The Perth Scorchers are favourites to win their first match of the season (-172.41) given that World Cup winners Mitch Marsh and Josh Inglis are expected to take the field with Jhye Richardson, Lance Morris, and English import Zak Crawley. The Renegades have a talented and experienced bowling line-up, but the Scorchers have boasted arguably the most damaging batting line-up in the BBL for the last few years and will be incredibly difficult to restrict in scoring.
One of Josh Inglis’ most recent T20 batting innings was an astonishing 110-run knock for Australia against India following their World Cup success. The 28-year-old belted eleven 4’s and eight 6’s in 50 balls to set up an almost-winning total. In BBL12, Inglis was the third-highest runscorer of the competition with an average of 35+ runs per game and is one of the safest bets of the evening to score 20+ runs at -133.33 and to hit 1+ six at +125 with the top cricket bookmakers.
Andrew Tye will be the leader of this Scorchers bowling team again this season after finishing BBL12 with 26 wickets at a strike rate of one wicket per 14 balls on average. Tye often bowls overs at the back end of the innings where batters are trying to score quickly, and often they fail to identify the variations Tye is delivering, which quickly brings about wickets. Look for Tye to start the season well with 2+ wickets at +110 with Picklebet in the match.
