McGregor side of mega-fight against Mayweather now done
THE most talked about fight of the 21st century could be formally announced sooner than you think.
UFC President Dana White declared on American television station TNT that Conor McGregor’s side of the deal to fight Floyd Mayweather has been finalised.
“The McGregor side is done,” White said.
“I’m starting to work on the Mayweather side now.”
McGregor confirmed the announcement via his website TheMacLife.com not long after, claiming the deal is a “record-breaking” one.
“The first, and most important part of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on,” the statement read.
“Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await [Mayweather’s adviser] Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days.”

Although McGregor is the first of the pair to agree to terms, online bookmakers are not giving the Irish superstar much chance inside the squared-circle against the 49-0 Mayweather.
WilliamHill.com.au is offering +700 for McGregor to reign victorious over the unbeaten Mayweather.
Despite McGregor’s confidence that the fight will now happen, there are a number of hurdles the Notorious one’s camp will need to overcome prior to the bout taking place.
An experienced fight-maker, who spoke to American news outlet the LA Times on the condition of anonymity, believes the UFC President’s announcement that McGregor’s side of the deal is done is meaningless.
“You have to understand that Dana White saying he’s made a deal with Conor McGregor doesn’t mean anything,” he said.
“He could be making a deal simply to please Conor McGregor… to make it look like Dana White is on the side of his biggest star.
“The next thing could be Dana White going back to Conor McGregor and saying: ‘Oh, these people are totally unreasonable. Can you believe Mayweather wants 70% of the pot? That leaves nothing for us.
Based on these UFC saying they finalized paper work to fight Floyd says it’s not happening. It’s Mayweather way or nothing.

“‘[Forget] it. I’ll pay you more fighting here in the UFC, where you are the main guy. You don’t want to be second fiddle.’
“[Forget] it, that fight is not going to happen.”
@giaco1025 That’s not happening bro Mayweather knows no one is paying him 100 Million for that crap

The Mayweather camp is yet to comment on the contract negotiations since the recent announcement.
For his part, White said the proclamation that his star has agreed to terms did not ensure the bout will take place.
“I’m not saying the fight will happen, but I’ve got one side done: now it’s time to work on the other,” White said.
“If we can come to a deal with Haymon and Mayweather, the fight’s going to happen.”
