Mallyon gets one day shaved off suspension
Andrew Mallyon has had one meeting shaved off a careless riding ban on appeal, meaning he is ruled out of two city meetings instead of three.
Mallyon was suspended for 10 meetings, three metropolitan and seven provincial, after pleading guilty to careless riding aboard runner-up Sweet Jazz in the fourth race at Caulfield last Saturday.
He lodged an appeal against the severity of the penalty which was upheld by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Tuesday.
The RAD Board varied the penalty to nine meetings which begins after he rides on Wednesday at Sandown where Mallyon is booked to ride last-start Geelong winner Outboard Motors for the Lindsay Park stable.
He can return to the saddle on Saturday week.
