Luck changes for Seasons at Warwick Farm

Seasons has spiked a frustrating sequence of near misses by breaking her maiden with a stylish win at Warwick Farm.

After finishing second at the first two starts of her career at Canterbury, the Les Bridge-trained filly steered clear of trouble in the TAB.com.au Plate (1200m) to hit the line 1-1/4 lengths ahead of Temple Run.

“She hasn’t had much luck up to date, but she’s a nice filly,” said Randwick-based Bridge.

I’ll probably give her another run and put her out but I think she’s a filly with a lot of scope in her.”

Tim Clark was in the saddle when Seasons was pipped by a long neck on debut, and then by a nose second-up.

On both occasions she was blocked for a run so the relief was palpable when the $1.45 favourite skipped clear over the concluding stages.

Temple Run ($7.50) was second and $51 newcomer Baanone was 2-3/4 lengths back in third.

“It was a tragedy the other day, so I made sure she had clear air and before the turn she strode into it nicely,” Clark said.

“She got a little bit lost when she got to the front, so there’s still a bit of improvement there, and still got a bit of furnishing to do but she’s got nice talent.

“In six to 12 months time it wouldn’t shock me if she got to black-type level.”
