Lindsay Park’s two-state three-year-olds

Lindsay Park will again need to separate its vast array of three-year-olds as spring approaches.

Already the stable has sent Formality and Eshtiraak to Sydney with the former winning the Group Two Silver Shadow Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

Fillies Catchy and Ploverset kicked off their campaigns with placings at Caulfield as did colt Plutocracy.

Lindsay Park will again have high class three-year-olds contesting races in Melbourne and Sydney on Saturday with the stable waiting until acceptances on Wednesday to decide which horses race at Moonee Valley and which head north to Rosehill.

The stable has Muraahib, Madeenaty and Tulip entered in the Group Three San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill with all three also nominated at Moonee Valley.

Muraahib joins Muraaqeb, both owned by Shadwell Stud, and Tycoon Dancer among nominations for the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley.

Tulip has been entered in the Three-Year-Old Fillies Plate over 1200m, as have the Shadwell Stud-owned Madeenaty and Sanadaat.

Senior trainer David Hayes is excited by the quality three-year-olds in the stable and is looking forward to seeing Madeenaty racing around a bend again.

She was defeated up the straight at Flemington on August 5 by Saturday’s Caulfield winner Crown Witness.

“She’s a speedy filly who loves racing around a turn,” Hayes said.

He said either Tulip or Madeenaty would head to Sydney.

“We’ll have a look at the fields and make a decision then,” Hayes said.

“When it’s time to head off on Thursday, one will turn left and one will turn right and head to either our Flemington stable or to our Randwick stable.”

Melbourne Cup winner Almandin has been nominated for a 2040m handicap on Saturday.

The Lloyd Williams-owned stayer hasn’t raced since defeating Heartbreak City in last year’s Cup.

Entered for the Cox Plate over Saturday’s course and distance, Almandin finished out of the money in two previous attempts at Moonee Valley in the lead-up to last year’s Melbourne Cup.
