Lachlan King loses careless riding appeal
Apprentice Lachlan King has failed in his appeal against a careless riding suspension.
King was banned for seven meetings at Caulfield last Saturday for careless riding aboard Strike Force in a 1400m race, with that suspension on top of another seven-meeting penalty he incurred a week earlier.
The apprentice lodged an appeal against the Caulfield decision and penalty but it was dismissed by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Friday.
King’s back-to-back suspensions run until after next Saturday’s Bletchingly Stakes meeting which is the final city meeting of the 2017/18 season.
King has ridden 46 winners this season in Victoria including eight in town.
