La Liga Matchday 24 soccer tips, betting predictions & top odds
The 2023/24 La Liga season continues this weekend with a thrilling top-two matchup between Real Madrid and Girona taking top billing. Below are our free La Liga soccer betting tips for Matchday 24.
Cadiz v Real Betis
Saturday, February 10 – 7am AEDT – Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla
Sitting just two points outside the top six, Real Betis have an excellent opportunity to put some pressure on the sides around them as they face relegation contenders Cadiz. With just one goal from their past six matches, it is clear that Cadiz have struggled offensively, but draws against Athletic Club and Villarreal prove they are a danger side. As the two teams with the most draws in the league, backing another one here shapes as the smart bet.
Draw
Deportivo Alaves v Villarreal
Sunday, February 11 – 12am AEDT – Estadio de Mendizorroza
Sitting 14th with the second-worst defence in La Liga, the disappointing season continued for Villarreal after they were held to a goalless draw against Cadiz last weekend. Facing another mid-table side in Deportivo Alaves, Villarreal need to improve if they wish to avoid the relegation scrap. While Alaves lost to Barcelona last weekend, they had previously been on a three-match winning streak and we are backing them to return to form at home.
Deportivo Alaves to win
Real Sociedad v Osasuna
Sunday, February 11 – 2:15am AEDT – Reale Arena
On a run of three straight 0-0 draws, Real Sociedad are now at risk of losing their spot in the top six. Desperate for a win, they welcome an Osasuna outfit that is winless in its past three matches. Facing each other just three weeks ago in the Copa del Rey, it was Sociedad who got the win on the road; now, back at home, we are expecting the same result.
Real Sociedad to win
Real Madrid v Girona
Sunday, February 11 – 4:30am AEDT – Estadio Santiago Bernabeu
After drawing with Atletico Madrid last weekend, Real Madrid now sit just two points clear of Girona atop the table. While the Catalonian bolters have produced big upsets against some heavyweights, facing Real at the Bernabeu is a different story. However, one thing for certain is that Girona will continue to play the attacking style that has got them this far, so back both teams to score in a must-watch clash that could decide the title race.
Real Madrid / Both teams to score
Las Palmas v Valencia
Sunday, February 11 – 7am AEDT – Estadio de Gran Canaria
After suffering just one defeat in their past seven Liga matches, Valencia are in a mid-season surge that leaves them just two points out of the top six. Las Palmas are also in great form, losing one of their past four, and have shattered expectations this season thanks to an excellent defensive record. Picking a result is difficult, but with neither side showing major offensive prowess, expect this to be a low-scoring affair.
Under 2.5 goals
Getafe v Celta Vigo
Monday, February 12 – 12am AEDT – Estadio Coliseum
Securing a vital three points with their 3-0 win over Osasuna last weekend, Celta Vigo face another opportunity as they head to Getafe. With just one win from their past six matches, Getafe need to win here if they want to push for anything more this season. After the reverse fixture ended in a draw, it is hard to see anything different here between two struggling sides.
Draw
Mallorca v Rayo Vallecano
Monday, February 12 – 2:15am AEDT – Estadi Mallorca Son Moix
Sitting 17th with the second-worst attack in La Liga after five games without a win, not much is going right for Mallorca at the moment. The form isn’t much better for Rayo Vallecano, who are also winless in their last five. These are two of the lowest-scoring sides in La Liga, so backing the under would be the safe bet; however, we are picking the draw for a bit more value.
Draw
Sevilla v Atletico Madrid
Monday, February 12 – 4:30am AEDT – Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan
After securing a dramatic point against close rivals Real Madrid last weekend, Atletico Madrid are now set to resume their battle with Barcelona for third place as they head to Sevilla. Although Sevilla earned a much-needed win on Monday night, they aren’t expected to put up much of a fight here, with the dynamic Atletico attack likely to tear apart a leaky defence.
Atletico Madrid to win
Barcelona v Granada
Monday, February 12 – 7am AEDT – Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys
Sitting third with a two-point gap over Atletico Madrid, Barcelona face an excellent chance to gain some goal difference as they welcome the 19th-placed Granada. While Granada were able to secure an unlikely draw in the reverse fixture, in Barcelona the home side to be far too strong. With injuries to many of the Barca forwards, expect youngster Lamine Yamal to be a focal point up front.
Lamine Yamal anytime goalscorer
Almeria v Athletic Bilbao
Tuesday, February 13 – 7am AEDT – Power Horse Stadium
Athletic Bilbao will look to continue their top-four charge when they face the winless Almeria. Coming off a brutal 4-0 win over Mallorca last weekend, expect the Basque side to put in another strong effort against a side they haven’t lost to in their past nine clashes. With each of Almeria’s last three matches going over the total goals line, and with the constant threat of the Athletic attack, look to pair the result with the over for extra value.
Athletic Bilbao / Over 2.5 goals
