Supercars Championship: Ipswich Super 440 preview

The 2025 Supercars Championship returns to Queensland Raceway in Ipswich from August 8–10 for the Ipswich Super 440, marking the venue’s first Supercars round since 2019 and the final leg of the inaugural Sprint Cup.

With three races across the weekend — two 120km sprints on Saturday and a 200km feature on Sunday — there’s plenty on the line as drivers fight for championship points, Finals Series qualification, and a chance to lock in bonus points for the end-of-year showdown.

Tyre strategy will be front and centre, with softs used for Race 1, super softs for Race 2, and a two-stop soft-tyre setup for Race 3. While top online bookmakers have odds only for Race 1 at the moment, early pace and results will strongly influence betting markets across all three.

Broc Feeney heads to Ipswich with a 220-point lead and is set to secure the inaugural Sprint Cup title. He has dominated qualifying this year and returns to Triple Eight’s home test track, making him a red-hot favourite. Behind him, Will Brown and Matt Payne are still fighting for second in the Sprint Cup standings and a guaranteed finals berth.

Only 11 of the 26 drivers on the grid have raced a Supercar at this venue before, making the revamped 3.1km layout a great equaliser. Wildcards Zach Bates and Cameron Crick add intrigue, while James Courtney brings nostalgia with his 600th career start — likely his last at Queensland Raceway before retirement.

2025 Ipswich Super 440 betting predictions

Broc Feeney is a must-back at +225 with BetOnline for Race 1. He has won nine of the last 12 races and only needs a win plus fastest lap in Race 1 to clinch the Sprint Cup. Queensland Raceway is effectively his home track, and after a recent test day with Triple Eight, Feeney looks poised to dominate the entire weekend.

Chaz Mostert is one of just a few drivers with race-winning experience at this venue, and he thrives in warmer conditions. His Walkinshaw Andretti United team has been improving strategically, and his qualifying form in 2025 has flown under the radar. Mostert is a strong podium threat in Race 1 at +170 with BetOnline and will undoubtedly shorten in the second and third races.

Matthew Payne remains in Sprint Cup contention and has been ultra-consistent across all formats. While he may not have the raw one-lap pace of Feeney, his race craft and tyre management could see him sneak a top-six finish in all three races. The -181.82 with BetOnline is short for Race 1, but you could see his price rise for the following events.
