Inz’n’out looking to be in winner’s stall

In 16 starts since his last win, Inz’n’out has racked up nine minor placings and his trainer Gerald Ryan would like nothing more than to see him change that statistic in the Winter Dash at Randwick.

The five-year-old has won four races, the most recent in August 2015, and has run 15 seconds and thirds.

He lines up in Saturday’s Winter Dash (1200m) following a third behind The Monstar in the Listed June Stakes.

“The 1200 metres will suit him better than the 1100 last time,” Ryan said.

“He is an honest horse and being third-up will help him as well as the extra distance.”

Stable apprentice James Innes Jr will ride Inz’n’out as he attempts to peg back Andrew Adkins who has a nine-win lead in the Sydney premiership for junior riders.

“I’m not sure James can beat Andrew but he is riding really well,” Ryan said.

Inz’n’out was one of 14 entries taken on Monday for the Winter Dash including last year’s winner Mount Nebo and Group performer Ninth Legion who is the highest-rated nomination.

Ryan has entered Girl Sunday for three races, one at Randwick and two at Doomben including the Group One Tattersall’s Tiara.

The 1350m-race is the final Group One race of the season and received 29 nominations.

“I don’t think she’ll get a run in the Tiara looking at the entries,” Ryan said.

“She is also in a Class Six at Doomben and a benchmark race here. With acceptances now on Wednesdays that gives us time to decide whether to put her on the float and send her to Brisbane.

“It depends where the best going is and the barrier draws.

“If she stays here James will ride her as well.”

One horse definitely bound for Brisbane is Deploy, the last-start winner of the Group Two Moreton Cup (1200m) who is one of 22 entries for the Group Three Healy Stakes over the same distance.

“He came home after his win and will go back up on Wednesday night,” Ryan said.

“He’s done really well so I would expect him to run well again.”
