Insensata wins again at Rosehill
Insensata has backed up her last-start win with another Rosehill victory, posing a problem for trainer Jason Coyle as to her next start.
With the end of her three-year-old season approaching, Coyle will ponder whether to give her another start while she is eligible for BOBS bonuses or look to the early spring.
Ridden by Adam Hyeronimus, Insensata ($4) tracked the leader and $3.60 favourite Girl Sunday from the start and outgunned her at the end of the benchmark 84 (1350m) on Saturday to win by 1-1/4 lengths.
“We will have to wait and see what benchmark she gets after this before deciding what we do next,” Coyle said.
“She probably should have won her last three races. I think the heavy track brought her undone two starts ago when she finished second.
“We’ll have a look and see how she pulls up before we make any decisions.”
Insensata came back from the 1500m of her last-start win but Hyeronimus said that was no issue.
“She was very impressive,” he said.
“I thought I was in a bit of bother at the top of the straight but she kept picking up.
“The drop in distance was no concern. She is a credit to Jason and I’m sure she can keep progressing through the grades.”
