I Boogi gives Cameron family special win
A midweek city win by I Boogi at Sandown is one 25-year-old Scott Cameron will never forget.
Cameron recently joined his father Russell in a training partnership at Flemington and I Boogi gave them their first winner on Wednesday.
The four-year-old settled in the second half of the field and made ground down the outside in the straight in the Clanbrooke Racing Handicap (1200m) to grab Epic Moment close to the line.
I Boogi got home by a half-head with another three-quarters of a length to Wall Street Wolf third.
Scott Cameron said it was a thrill to get his first winner and for both he and his father to be on track for it.

“To get my first winner in town is a good thrill,” Cameron said.
“I’ve ridden work since I was 14 for Dad and I always thought this was the way I was going to go.”
I Boogi was first-up in Wednesday’s race on a soft track, having not raced since finishing unplaced at Flemington in March.
“He’s always shown good ability,” Cameron said.
“We think he’s more of a miler so it was good to see him do that today.
“We’ve had him accepted with a few times now but just waited to find the right ground. He needs the cut out of it because he jarred up badly at Flemington in his last run of last preparation.”
