Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Stars BBL preview
The Big Bash League continues on Thursday night as the Hobart Hurricanes face the Melbourne Stars at Blundstone Arena.
The Hobart Hurricanes finally recorded their first win of the Big Bash Season last Saturday as they beat the Melbourne Renegades by six wickets. Chasing 184 to win, the pairing of Matthew Wade and Mac Wright put together 140 runs off less than 12 overs to set up the chase. However, there are still concerns surrounding the bowling line-up, who have struggled in each of their matches so far.
The Melbourne Stars also recorded their first win of the tournament in their last match as they broke their seven-match losing streak in a shock win over the Sydney Sixers. Thanks to an excellent bowling effort from Pakistani imports Usama Mir (3-19) and Haris Rauf (3-38), the Stars were chasing just 155, which they did with three balls to spare. Still sat down at the bottom of the standings, the Stars will need their big guns to improve their form drastically if they are any chance of competing at the back end of the BBL.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Stars betting predictions
Despite their upset win on Boxing Day, the Stars still have major concerns in their squad as they head into this match. Chasing a low score, the Stars still crawled over the line in a performance that hasn’t eased any doubts over their batting ability. Against a Hurricanes bowling attack that is filled with international experience, the Stars will need to put together a much better performance on the batting-friendly pitch down in Hobart. In what is expected to be a high-scoring match, the Hurricanes should have too much quality at -135.14 with Picklebet.
Returning to form with 82 off just 50 balls in his last match, Hurricanes captain Matthew Wade is one of the most dangerous batsmen in the Big Bash. With a mixture of power and unorthodox shot selection, Wade is so difficult to contain, particularly in the powerplay. He makes the most of the short square boundaries at Blundstone Arena and loves pace on the ball. As the favourite, back him in to lead the Hurricanes at +275 with top online bookmakers.
Promoted up to number three, Stars all-rounder Beau Webster is having a great start to the tournament despite the poor form of the side. Averaging 33 with the bat, Webster has regularly found himself rescuing the side due to wickets falling around him. Usually a slow starter, Webster spends time at the crease before teeing off in the last few overs. As a result, we like him to score 20+ runs at -166.67 with top cricket betting sites.
