Gold Coast v Port Adelaide match preview
Port Adelaide will be looking to continue their top-four push this Sunday afternoon as they face a tricky AFL clash against the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.
At home, the Suns enter this clash as slight favourites at $1.77 with PlayUp, while the Power are at $2.10 with Bet365. The line is set at just 4.5 points.
Last Saturday, Gold Coast continued their poor road form, losing to North Melbourne by four points at Marvel Stadium. Inaccuracy cost the Suns in the end, as they kicked 3.5 in the final term to fall just short.
Gold Coast have now lost their past 14 away matches. However, Damien Hardwick’s men have a perfect home record, which leaves them just one game outside the eight. At $4 with leading online bookmakers, they are paying juicy odds to make the finals.
Veterans Touk Miller (wrist) and Sam Day (foot) are out after suffering injuries against the Roos, while ruckman Jarrod Witts will miss a second straight game. Small forward Malcolm Rosas Jr is one confirmed inclusion, while first-round draft pick Jed Walter is also in the mix.
Port Adelaide secured a vital win last Saturday, beating the Western Bulldogs by 48 points at Adelaide Oval. It was a dominant display from the Power, keeping the Dogs to just eight goals. The midfield trio of Connor Rozee (36 disposals, one goal), Zak Butters (33 disposals, one goal) and Ollie Wines (30 disposals, one goal) starred, while key forward Mitch Georgiades added five goals.
With two wins in a row, Ken Hinkley’s men have worked their way back up to sixth on the ladder. Just two points shy of third place, they offer a value selection to make the top four at $5.50 with top AFL bookmakers.
There is just one change for the Power this week as Georgiades misses through suspension, leaving veteran forward Charlie Dixon as the likely replacement.

Gold Coast v Port Adelaide betting strategy
While they come off a loss against the struggling Kangaroos, it is a completely different Gold Coast side at home. The Power have averaged just 56.5 points across their last two away games, while the Suns average 107 points at home. Back the Suns to maintain their perfect home record as they win by less than 40 points at $2.25 with PlayUp.
Sitting second in the Coleman Medal race, it has been a breakout year for Gold Coast key forward Ben King. The 24-year-old has kicked over three goals in all but one home match this season, which includes 12 in his last three. After a quiet day against the Kangaroos, back King to bounce back with three or more goals at $2.30 with leading Australian bookies.
Port Adelaide midfielder Zak Butters has returned to his best in recent weeks, averaging 30 touches over the past three rounds. The vice-captain has also kicked a goal per game in that stretch, so he offers great value as an anytime goalkicker at $2 with top sports betting sites.
