G1 winning sprinter Holler retired to stud

Group One winning-sprinter Holler has been retired and will stand at Darley Stud in the next southern hemisphere season.

The winner of the Canterbury Stakes, Holler will join the roster at Darley’s Northwood Park in Victoria.

As a three-year-old, Holler beat a field of older horses including Kermadec, Criterion and First Seal to win the Canterbury Stakes.

He then finished a short head second to Flamberge in the William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Alastair Pulford, head of sales for Darley in Australia, said he expected Holler to be popular with breeders as a son of Commands.

“He is a homebred who became a weight-for-age winner at the highest level in the Godolphin blue,” Pulford said.

“He is an exceptionally good-looking horse with a stallion’s pedigree so we expect him to be very popular with breeders.

“Commands was such a terrific stallion for us so it is fantastic to now have two of his most brilliant sons on our roster with Holler joining Epaulette, who stands at Kelvinside.”
