Full field, free tip & bonuses for the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas

Magic Millions 3YO Guineas
THE Magic Millions 3YO Guineas was recently bumped up to $2 million, which has attracted the attention of not only connections, but also punters.

It has become one of the biggest punting races during the summer months and a quality field of 16 starters has been presented this Saturday at the Gold Coast.

Unbeaten colt Winning Rupert has grabbed the headlines throughout the lead-up to the 3YO Guineas, but there’s always room for an upset and the Guineas has had its fair share.

The money has firmly come for odds-on favourite Winning Rupert. The slick sprinter has firmed in from $1.55 to $1.50 in the last couple of days and punters are willing to take the shorts.

Second favourite Global Glamour has drifted from $6 to $7, despite having won multiple Group one races. It was dealt a tough blow in the barriers when receiving barrier 20, which explains the betting drift.

Arbeitsam has been specked at each way odds of $17 after winning at Warwick Farm last start and Eckstein has been kept safe in the betting at $13 following a string of four consecutive victories.

Winning Rupert form guide and tips

We are featuring Winning Rupert because we think it’s very unlikely the three-year-old colt gets beaten in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

The Bjorn Baker-trained colt has won all five career starts with style and the $1.50 quote is warranted. It won well on debut at the Sunshine Coast after it missed the jump and it was just too strong for the likes of Attention in the Champagne Classic at Doomben.

It kicked off its three-year-old campaign with a simply stunning 5.8-length win over race-rival Crack Me Up at Eagle Farm and its two starts since have been out of this world.

It won the Gold Edition at Doomben by 5.5 lengths in a time of 1.7.97 for the 1200m distance. That’s low-flying and it again asserted its dominance with a three-length win in the Vo Rogue Plate last start.

The son of Written Tycoon has the breeding to suggest it will continue winning races as a three-year-old and it appears as though only bad luck can stop its unbeaten streak.

From barrier six we can see jockey Jeff Lloyd sitting third on the outside with cover. From that position it should be able to get a cart into the race and be too strong in the finish.

A star could be born on Saturday and we’ll happily take the $1.50 on offer at Sportsbet.com.au.

Magic Millions 3YO Guineas place chances

Just because we think Winning Rupert will win doesn’t mean there’s no value with the other runners.

There are multiple runners which are paying good odds to place and should give punters a good sight for their money.

2. Global Glamour

Trainer: Waterhouse/Bott
Jockey: Tim Clark
Form: 36119
Barrier: 20
Best odds: $1.95 to place at CrownBet

The Star Witness three-year-old has plenty of quality about it and it’s the only Group one winner in the field. It won the Group 1 Flight Stakes and the Group 1 1000 Guineas last preparation and that form would usually see it run as the odds-on favourite.

Punters were disappointed when it didn’t have much luck at Eagle Farm last start and the barrier draw makes it tough this Saturday, but its form should be respected and the $1.95 for the place is worth taking.

9. Eckstein

Trainer: Kurt Goldman
Jockey: Brenton Avdulla
Form: 41111
Barrier: 10
Best odds: $3.50 to place at Palmerbet

Eckstein has come a long way this preparation and it will have to rise to another level to compete here, but winning form is good form.

The I Am Invincible filly kicked off this preparation with a win in the Highway Handicap at Randwick – not usually a good form guide for a $2 million feature, but it has since looked good winning three straight.

Wins at Eagle Farm and Gold Coast have secured its spot in the field and punters should respect Kurt Goldman’s ability to train young sprinters. The former trainer of Hellbent has this filly flying and this field isn’t overly impressive when you take out the top two betting prospects.

12. River Racer

Trainer: Less Ross
Jockey: Robbie Fradd
Form: 1×252
Barrier: 4
Best odds: $5 to place at Bet365

It’s not common that finishing three lengths behind the winner would be good form, but River Racer’s second placing behind Winning Rupert was full of merit.

The three-year-old filly has won only once from 10 starts, but it has placed on seven occasions and the odds of $5 appear to be great value.

It produced a big finish to run fifth behind Eckstein two starts back and the rise to 1400m will suit perfectly. It has flashed home in every start recently and it has drawn to get a lovely sit.

6. Arbeitsam

Trainer: Waterhouse/Bott
Jockey: Joshua Parr
Form: 1331
Barrier: 8
Best odds: $4.40 to place at William Hill

Arbeitsam might be the second stringer from the Waterhouse/Bott stables, but there was plenty to like about its win last start.

The son of Snitzel defeated the likes of France by over three lengths and it looks to have plenty of improvement in its legs. It could be the fresh horse on the scene and with luck from barrier eight, it could lead the field into the straight.

It’s not an easy horse to run down as it showed last start and the $4.40 to place is worth having a dabble at.
