Fremantle Dockers v Western Bulldogs Round 4 preview

Fremantle continue their home stretch at Optus Stadium as they take on the Western Bulldogs in a crucial AFL Round 4 clash on Sunday afternoon.

Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw continue to lead from the front for the Dockers, and with Josh Treacy firing up forward, Justin Longmuir’s side looks poised for a strong showing in front of the purple army once again after their Derby win last Sunday.

The Western Bulldogs are coming off a strong performance against Carlton last round as they look to strengthen their position in the top eight this weekend.

They’ll be led by rising stars Sam Darcy and Sam Davidson, who continue to impress with their impact and versatility.

Top AFL betting sites have Fremantle as home favourites, but don’t write off the Dogs just yet.

Dockers v Bulldogs R4 team news

Fremantle welcome back Jaeger O’Meara and Corey Wagner this week, with Liam Reidy and Will Brodie also named in the squad. Fremantle big guns Sean Darcy and Hayden Young are edging closer to a return and are expected to be available next week.

Meanwhile, Nat Fyfe continues building his fitness in the reserves, with Longmuir suggesting he’s at least another week away from playing in the WAFL.

The Western Bulldogs have named debutant Jordan Croft alongside Arthur Jones and Caleb Poulter for this week’s clash.

However, the Dogs remain without Marcus Bontempelli, Adam Treloar, and Cody Weightman as they attempt to stay afloat in the top-eight race. Both Bontempelli and Treloar are expected to return within six weeks, while Weightman faces a longer stint on the sidelines with his knee issue.

Fremantle v Western Bulldogs predictions

With Fremantle’s midfield returning to strong form, the Dockers should get the job done. Caleb Serong has a history of big games against the Bulldogs, averaging 34.2 disposals in their last five against the Doggies, making $3.20 with Picklebet amazing value for 35 touches or more.

Josh Treacy has emerged as Fremantle’s key target up forward, kicking three or more goals in four of his last five games. He looks well placed to hit that mark again and is paying $3.15 with online bookmakers to do so.

At the other end, Bulldogs ruckman Tim English is always a threat when he pushes forward. He’s kicked a goal in four of his last five matches against Freo, making $2.25 for one or more a great play with Neds.
