Freddie Fox Trot must improve manners
Talented Gold Coast three-year-old Freddie Fox Trot is all business on the track but will have to improve his pre-race manners before he is allowed to start again.
Freddie Fox Trot made it four wins in a row at Doomben on Saturday when he had his fifth start.
But there was plenty of drama before the race when efforts to saddle him proved difficult.
Chief steward Allan Reardon said trainer Les Kelly’s staff and racecourse officials ended up taking Freddie Fox Trot to the sandpit area.
“Mr Kelly was not on course but we contacted him and he told us Freddie Fox Trot had been difficult to saddle throughout his career,” Reardon said.
“Mr Kelly said Freddie Fox Trot would now be spelled. He said he would undertake remedial work in an attempt to rectify the geldings pre-race behaviour.”
“But we advised him Freddie Fox Trot’s nomination would be refused until it can be shown his pre-race manners have improved.”
