Favourite Loving Gaby has drawn barrier 12 in the 14-horse field for Victoria’s premier two-year-old race, the Blue Diamond Stakes.
Loving Gaby emerged as favourite for Saturday’s race following an impressive debut win in the Chairman’s Stakes at Caulfield on February 2.
The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained filly retained favouritism at $4.50 after Tuesday’s draw with the James Cummings-trained Godolphin filly Athiri the $6 second pick after drawing barrier 13.
I Am Immortal, a winner of the colts and geldings divisions of the Blue Diamond Preview and Prelude at his only two starts drew nine and firmed into $8 while his Anthony Freedman-trained stablemate Lyre, owned by Godolphin, drew barrier five and is an $11 chance.
Game Keeper, to be ridden by Barend Vorster, drew the coveted inside barrier while Shotmaker, a debut second to I Am Immortal on debut at Caulfield in the Blue Diamond Prelude on February 9, drew widest in 14.
One-time Diamond favourite Brooklyn Hustle was another to draw wide in barrier 11.
