F1 US GP Market Movers: Norris claims pole position
The Austin Formula 1 Grand Prix main race is scheduled for Monday, October 21, 2024, with the race set to start at 6am AEDT, and after a typically sensational F1 qualifying and practice sessions, the grid positions are locked in.
Norris and Verstappen head-to-head at United States GP
This weekend has been a wild one with Max Verstappen (1st in drivers championship, 339 points) taking out the sprint race and now Lando Norris (2nd in drivers championship, 285 points) securing pole position.
The two drivers had a great fight in the sprint race, but ultimately it was the Red Bull that came out on top.
They own the front row for the main race after George Russell had an accident into turn 19 and stopped the session early.
With Verstappen besting Norris in the sprint race, he has opened betting at $1.80 from Norris, who is at a whopping $3 from pole position with the leading F1 bookmakers.
The sprint race was damage limitation for Norris after qualifying lower than expected. He will have a lot more left in the car for the main race, and we could see another dominant win from the McLaren driver.

United States GP betting after qualifying
Verstappen was paying a huge $5 to win at the beginning of the weekend, while Norris has drifted from $2 to $3 with PlayUp.
Ferrari look like the best overall team in Austin, with the Italian team taking out the second row for the main race.
A high-risk value bet will be Charles Leclerc to win at $8. With hope of some action between Norris and Verstappen, the Ferraris could benefit greatly.
Oscar Piastri will be quite annoyed at his performance this weekend, and although it will take everything he’s got, he very well can fight on through with the right strategy and finish strongly. He is paying $3.75 for a podium finish with Neds Bookmaker.
Mercedes are having another shocker weekend, and it doesn’t look like the cars will have what it takes to breach the top five.
