F1 US GP Market Movers: Norris and Verstappen claim pole position
The Austin Formula 1 (F1) Grand Prix (GP) main race is scheduled for Monday, October 21, 2024, with the race set to start at 5:00AM AEST, and after a typically sensational F1 Qualifying (Quali) and practice sessions, the grid positions are locked in.
Norris and Verstappen head-to-head at United States GP
This weekend has been a wild one with Max Verstappen (1st in drivers championship, 339 points) taking out the sprint race and now Lando Norris (2nd in drivers championship, 285 points) taking this weeks Pirelli Pole Position award.
The two drivers had a great fight in the sprint race but ultimately it was Verstappen who came out on top.
They own the front row for the main race after George Russell had an accident into turn 19 and stopped the session early.
With Verstappen besting Norris in the Sprint race, he’s opened betting at $1.80 from Norris, who’s at a whopping $3 from Pole Position with the leading F1 bookmakers.
The sprint race was damage limitations for Norris after qualifying lower than expected and will have a lot more left in the car for the main race; we could see a very dominant win happening again here.

United States GP Betting After Qualifying Session
Verstappen was paying a huge $5 to win at the beginning of the weekend, whilst Norris has drifted from $2 to $3 with PlayUp.
Ferrari looks like the best overall team here in Austin, with both drivers all in this weekend. The team taking out the second row for the Main race.
A high-risk value bet will be Charles Leclerc to win at $8. With hope of some action between Norris and Verstappen, you could see one of the Ferrari’s taking it out here, and Leclerc being a little more aggressive could see him overtake and battle it out for the podium.
Oscar Piastri will be quite annoyed at his performance this weekend, and although it’ll take everything he’s got, he very well can fight on through with the right strategy and finish on strongly paying $3.75 for a podium finish with Neds Bookmaker.
Mercedes having another shocker weekend and unfortunately doesn’t look like the cars will have what it takes to breach through the top 5 and no value can be seen surrounding them this weekend.
