F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix betting preview, top tips & best odds

The penultimate race of the 2023 Formula One season is here this weekend as we head to the United States for the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Having already sealed the championship, Max Verstappen continued his winning form in Brazil as he secured his 17th win of the F1 season. Lando Norris and Fernando Alonso joined him on the podium, while both Mercedes and Ferrari struggled.

In an improvised weekend format, the race weekend will start on Thursday, with the race being held on Saturday night as opposed to the traditional Sunday afternoon. As this is a brand new F1 circuit, expect the results to be highly unpredictable.

A long main straight down the Las Vegas Strip combined with sections of slow corners may be tricky to handle in the cold conditions forecast. As the second-longest circuit on the calendar, expect overtaking opportunities to be at a premium, with the influence of DRS looming as incredibly important.

Verstappen is once again favoured for the race, but watch out for Ferrari in qualifying. Mercedes should also be around the mark, as they are just 20 points ahead of the Italian team in the constructors’ championship. McLaren’s Norris is also a constant threat having finished on the podium in five of the last six weeks.

Las Vegas Grand Prix betting predictions

Continuing the form of every weekend this year, Max Verstappen is once again the comfortable favourite to win. Although unfamiliar with the track, expect the Dutchman to continue his winning ways as he completes the greatest F1 season of all time. Back Verstappen to win the Las Vegas Grand Prix at -250 with Neds.

As a rookie, Oscar Piastri has spent much of the season driving on tracks in race conditions for the first time. Coming into this race on an equal playing field with everyone else, look for the young Australian to adapt quickly to the conditions in what should be a fast car this weekend. We’re backing him for a top-six finish at -109.89.

On a track that is very similar to Mexico with its long straights and tight corners, look out for the Alpha Tauri and, more specifically, Daniel Ricciardo. After his race was derailed by a first-lap incident in Brazil, the resurgent Aussie veteran still managed a seventh-place finish. With the Aston Martin and Mercedes are expected to struggle, there is an excellent opportunity for Ricciardo to collect a points finish at +200 with the best F1 bookmakers.
