F1 Dutch Grand Prix 2024 betting tips, best odds & predictions

Netherlands Grand Prix betting preview

Returning from the European summer break, the thrilling Formula 1 schedule continues this weekend as we head to Zandvoort for the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix.

It all kicks off with Practice 1 at 8:30pm AEST on Friday, August 23, while the race is on at 11pm on Sunday, August 25.

Halfway through the F1 calendar, Max Verstappen is comfortably leading the drivers’ championship with 277 points. But with the Dutchman managing just one podium in his last four races, Red Bull look vulnerable for the first time since 2020.

McLaren have been the most improved team since last season, with Lando Norris sitting second on 199 points and Australia’s Oscar Piastri in fourth on 167.

Ferrari are right in the mix as well, with Charles Leclerc in third place on 177 points and Carlos Sainz on 162 points.

There have been seven race winners this year — including seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (150 points), who has won two of the last three races for Mercedes. His teammate George Russell is also having a good year, with 116 points.

2024 Dutch Grand Prix odds

It is no surprise to see Max Verstappen as the favourite, as he has won every edition of this race. The odds reflect the recent good from shown by both McLaren and Mercedes, while Ferrari have fallen behind after their strong start to the year.

Despite being in the Red Bull, Sergio Perez is expected to continue his poor form. Meanwhile, there is value in the final two point-scoring positions, as the mid-table teams have been inconsistent throughout the year.

Dutch Grand Prix 2024 betting picks

A seven-time winner this season already, Max Verstappen offers excellent value to continue his strong home form. This track is notoriously difficult to overtake on, and the Dutchman has secured pole position all three times he has raced here. At $2.75 with leading F1 bookmakers, back Verstappen for the victory.

Across the last five races, no one has scored more points than Mercedes veteran Lewis Hamilton. Since the team received mid-season upgrades, the Englishman has been on the podium in four out of five races. He has been on the podium here before and offers good value to do it again at $2.10 with top sports betting sites.

Despite having a disappointing season, Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll has shown recent improvement with points in two of his last three races. Aston Martin are the quickest of the mid-table teams and the Canadian will be favoured by difficult overtaking conditions, as he is known for his strong qualifying performances over his race pace. At $2, back Stroll to finish inside the top 10.
