EPL Matchweek 27 betting tips, top odds & value picks
Although 16 teams will be squaring off in Matchweek 27 of the 2021/22 English Premier League season, casual fans will be hard pressed to find a great game. But while there are no matchups between true title challengers, there are still a lot of intriguing games on tab. Here are our EPL betting tips and value picks for the weekend ahead.
Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur
There is no team more frustrating than Tottenham. They beat the best team in the league in Man City two games ago and followed it up with a drab loss to a Burnley, who had managed only two wins for the season up to that point. It makes no sense. So while you can never fully trust this Tottenham team, they have a lot of talent and possess the ability to win any game. They appear to have made some good moves to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window and should be able to follow up an embarrassing loss with an inspired win.
Leeds were a trendy preseason pick to surprise because of their style of play. Marcelo Bielsa’s men play attacking football and it leads to a lot of entertaining games. Unfortunately for them, it also leads to games like their last, where they lost 6-0 to Liverpool. Leeds have a tendency to concede a lot against good attacking teams, and that’s exactly what Tottenham are. Although Leeds may be able to bag a goal or two, Tottenham could get five. It’s never comfortable with Spurs, but this is a good bounce-back spot for them.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Aston Villa
There is not a lot to differentiate these two squads. Brighton will have the home-field advantage and are the favorites with Marantelli Bet due to that, but they are not substantially better than this Villa team. While they are ninth in the table to Villa’s 13th, they are both very flawed. Brighton come into this game off a shock loss to an inferior Burnley team and will look to get back to the standard they set earlier in the season.
Villa will also enter this game off a loss, but they have been playing better ever since they hired Steven Gerrard as manager. They made a splash move by bringing in Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona, and while he has had moments, he will need to be more consistent in order to raise the profile of Villa. Although many signs would point to a Brighton win, the value of the draw is evident in this clash of equals.

West Ham United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
In what is sneakily the match of the weekend between two UEFA Champions League hopefuls, fifth-placed Wolves will head to sixth-placed West Ham. Wolverhampton have been hot recently and appear to have the pieces in place to cover the loss of Adama Traore. Wolves have a strong defense that has only given up 18 goals this season, but West Ham have the strategy to break them down.
West Ham have a bunch of big players that are dominant on set pieces. They will need a goal or two in order to escape with a win, but they have the grit to do so. West Ham will also have a distinct advantage in fitness, as Wolves will only have two full days of rest to prepare for this game. In what promises to be a physical matchup, that gives a big advantage to West Ham. The Hammers have been a force at home this season and should use that to win this game and launch themselves ahead of Wolves in the Premier League table.
