EPL Matchweek 24 betting tips, best odds & goalscorer picks
The Premier League returns this weekend with a packed slate for Matchweek 24. These are our top EPL betting picks for the action on Saturday and Sunday.
Aston Villa vs Arsenal
This is a fun battle between first-placed Arsenal and 11th-placed Aston Villa. While Villa have a talented squad, they’ve been slipping in recent performances and their defence has left a lot to be desired. Villa have conceded seven goals in their last two Premier League matches, and Arsenal should add multiple goals to that tally. Although the Gunners have hit something of a skid over the past couple of weeks, they still look like a title contender and have been a part of some unlucky results of late. Arsenal should bounce back in this spot as they continue their title journey.
Arsenal to win
Brentford vs Crystal Palace
Brentford simply aren’t getting the respect they deserve. They are in the midst of a magical season and find themselves in eighth place. The Bees haven’t lost a Premier League game in nine matches, and at home they have three straight wins. And they will be at home in this contest against an inferior Crystal Palace side. The Eagles are a scrappy team, but Brentford know how to win those games. We expect the hosts to continue their strong season and further their footing in the Europa League qualification race.
Brentford to win
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Fulham
Brighton have been a revelation this season and a big reason for that has been the rise of Kaoru Mitoma. Ever since he gained a spot in Brighton’s starting 11, the Japanese winger has scored five goals in eight games and has been his side’s best player. At home against Fulham, Brighton should be on the front foot for most of the game and Mitoma should have plenty of chances. Fulham have a strong defence, but we think Mitoma will break through, and at -166.67, it’s a strong value play.
Kaoru Mitoma anytime goalscorer
Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City
While Riyad Mahrez got off to slow start this year, he is finally back to dominating for Manchester City. Over the last six contests, the Algerian star has four goals and has been City’s best attacker. With Erling Haaland dealing with injuries, Mahrez has become vital to City’s success and he is delivering. Now, he will have a matchup with one of the league’s worst defences, Nottingham Forest. City should easily win this game and that means Mahrez should have a lot of chances.
Riyad Mahrez anytime goalscorer
Newcastle United vs Liverpool
This is shaping up to be the game of the weekend. Newcastle are in fourth place with 41 points through 22 games and Liverpool are in ninth place with 32 points through 21 matches. And we are taking Newcastle. Newcastle are yet to lose at home this season, and they have only conceded one goal in their last four contests. Liverpool have a very talented team and they can win any game, but they cannot be trusted this season — especially in away games. The Reds only have two wins this season in away matches through 10 games. They simply are not the same team from years past. We expect Newcastle to lock Liverpool down and win a low-scoring game.
Newcastle United to win
Manchester United vs Leicester City
At this point, Marcus Rashford to score is a must-bet. The Man United forward has scored in eight of his last nine Premier League matches and is establishing himself as one of the best players across the entire league. United’s main gameplan now completely flows through Rashford, and it is working. Against Leicester, who have conceded 38 goals in 22 games, United should have a lot of chances. And if that happens, there’s a good chance that Rashford will be on the end of them. Take Rashford to score and watch him continue to make a run at the Premier League Golden Boot.
