Dolphins v Rams game preview

The Miami Dolphins will be looking to arrest a three-game slide when they face the Rams in Los Angeles to wrap up NFL Week 10 on Tuesday (AEDT).

The Dolphins head to SoFi Stadium as $2 underdogs, while the Rams are paying $1.83 to salute at home. With not much separating the two teams on the moneyline, top NFL sportsbooks have set the spread at just one point.

Miami went toe-to-toe with a strong Buffalo Bills outfit in Week 9, but in the end they were denied by a last-second field goal. Running back De’Von Achane was a standout for the Dolphins with 121 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw for 231 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Although the Dolphins aren’t as bad as their 2-6 record suggests, three one-score losses in a row means their playoff hopes are already under threat. In games where Tagovailoa plays, Miami are a top-10 offense; however, their defense has been a major concern, as they have conceded an average of 29 points in the last two weeks.

One major concern for Mike McDaniels and the Dolphins this week is star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who has not practiced due to a wrist injury. Starting right tackle Austin Jackson is also in doubt with a knee injury.

The Rams continued their recent spell of good form last weekend, beating the Seattle Seahawks in an overtime thriller. Despite wide receiver Puka Nacua being ejected, the Rams overturned a 10-point halftime deficit to tie up the game. Quarterback Matthew Stafford continued his excellent run with 298 passing yards and two touchdowns, including a 39-yard bomb to Demarcus Robinson in overtime to seal the win.

Three weeks ago, LA’s season was looking dire with a record of 1-4, but a run of three wins in a row has put Sean McVay’s side right back into playoff contention. While they are a bottom-10 defense, Stafford has shown his experience with some big plays at key moments in recent weeks.

Expect Nacua to play for the Rams this week despite his ejection, but starting right tackle Rob Havenstein is in doubt with an ankle injury. Backup nose tackle Neville Gallimore also did not practice with a shoulder concern.

Dolphins v Rams betting strategy

On a run of three straight wins, the Rams should be confident of beating the luckless Dolphins. If Hill is missing, expect the Miami offense to be handicapped, while their defense has struggled over the last few weeks. LA have lost just once at home this season, so back them to win again and cover the line of -1 at $1.90 with leading online bookmakers.

Given the recent defensive performances from these teams, expect both quarterbacks to have a day out. Games involving both teams have gone over in the last two weeks, so back the trend to continue with over 50 total points at $1.90 with top sports betting sites.

With Hill in doubt though injury, expect WR2 Jaylen Waddle to receive a greater target share for the Dolphins. The 25-year-old has been quiet in Tagovailoa’s absence, but last Sunday he finally scored his first touchdown of the season. At $2.75 with Marantelli Bet, Waddle offers decent value to find the endzone once again.
