Crows overpower Kangaroos in AFL Round 3 clash
Adelaide have maintained their perfect start to the 2025 AFL season with a comfortable 36-point win over North Melbourne at Adelaide Oval.
Despite the setback of losing forward Josh Rachele to a rib injury in the first quarter, the Crows proved too strong, recording a 17.12 (114) to 12.6 (78) victory.
Veteran Taylor Walker wound back the clock with four goals, matching North’s Nick Larkey, who played a lone hand up forward for the Kangaroos.
Prized draftee Sid Draper continued to impress in just his second game for the Crows, kicking two goals and showing poise beyond his years.
Jake Soligo was once again a standout, playing a key role in the Adelaide midfield and hitting the scoreboard to cap off another strong performance.
While North Melbourne showed improvement and competitiveness throughout, they were ultimately outclassed by a Crows outfit that looks increasingly like a genuine finals contender.
The win means Adelaide remain undefeated through the opening three rounds, positioning them second on the AFL ladder.
The only concern for Matthew Nicks’ side will be the fitness of Rachele, who has been electric early in the season.
Adelaide will be hopeful the injury is not serious as they look to continue their momentum into Round 4.
North, meanwhile, can take positives from their effort but will need to tighten up defensively to challenge top-eight sides going forward.
