Champions League Wednesday betting tips – Matchday 5
The UEFA Champions League will return this week for Matchday 5, and with only two group games remaining, it’s do-or-die time for a lot of clubs. This Wednesday (AEDT), 16 teams will be in action, including the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Barcelona. We have free UCL betting tips for their games and more.
Shakhtar Donetsk v Royal Antwerp
4:45am AEDT – Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex
Shakhtar will be feeling good after their monumental home win against Barcelona in Matchday 4. The Ukrainian champs now have six points through four matches, and a win here will give them an outside chance to advance to the knockout phase. Royal Antwerp are yet to garner a point through four UCL matches, and Shakhtar beat them 3-2 in Belgium, so all signs point to another win for the home side.
Shakhtar Donetsk to win
AC Milan v Borussia Dortmund
7am AEDT – Stadio San Siro
Borussia Dortmund have won two straight Champions League games and now sit on top of Group F. AC Milan are third, and this game is critical to their chances of advancing. The Italian heavyweights have struggled in recent times and only have one win from their last five Serie A matches. While this will be tough for Dortmund, the German giants hold all the value.
Borussia Dortmund to win
Barcelona v Porto
7am AEDT – Camp Nou
Robert Lewandowski, the 35-year-old striker for Barcelona, has scored eight goals across 15 games and has meshed very well with the young core around him. While Porto have been great defensively through four UCL matches, they will struggle at Camp Nou, where Barcelona have only lost one game through nine matches. At +10900 with top Champions League bookmakers, Lewandowski is a solid bet to score again as Barca seal a spot in the knockout phase.

Paris Saint-Germain v Newcastle United
7am AEDT – Parc des Princes
Paris Saint-Germain have six points and sit in second in Group F, while Newcastle are in fourth with four points. The English Premier League side has struggled away from home this season, winning only two from 10 away matches across all competitions. Meanwhile, PSG have won five consecutive French Ligue 1 matches. Look for the Parisians to continue their solid form and come away with a huge win in this group-defining fixture.
