Champions League semi-finals betting tips & goalscorer picks
We are down to the business end of this exciting UEFA Champions League campaign, with just four teams remaining. Below are our free soccer betting tips for the first leg of the semifinal fixtures.
Bayern Munich v Real Madrid
Wednesday, May 1 – 5am AEST – Allianz Arena
After losing the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 years, the Champions League is now the last chance of silverware for Bayern Munich this season. They reached the semi-finals after a 3-2 aggregate win over Arsenal, and they have lost just one game at home this season. However, they have drawn the greatest UCL side of all time, not to mention the outright title favourites.
Sitting 13 points clear at the top of La Liga, Real Madrid scraped through to the semis after beating Manchester City on penalties. They come in as slight underdogs with top soccer bookmakers for this clash on the road, but in a first-leg matchup they will be looking to minimise the damage before they take it back to the Bernabeu for the second leg.
Both of Real Madrid’s away legs in the knockout stage so far have gone under the total goals line, and with Bayern Munich missing plenty of attacking talent through injury, back this trend to continue.

Borussia Dortmund v Paris Saint-Germain
Thursday, May 2 – 5am AEST – SIGNAL IDUNA PARK
Borussia Dortmund are the most unlikely semi-finalists after they overcame a first-leg deficit to beat Atletico Madrid 5-4 on aggregate in the last round. They have been poor in the Bundesliga this season, but with heritage in European competition, a first leg at home should be a tough challenge for their opposition.
They host Paris Saint-Germain, who made it through after a 6-4 aggregate victory over Barcelona. With a comparatively weak domestic competition, it is hard to gauge their quality against the top dogs in Europe, but a 4-1 win at Camp Nou in the second leg of the quarterfinals shows they mean business.
This sides both progressed from Group F, with their previous encounter at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK ending 1-1. PSG enter as slight favourites with most UCL betting sites, largely due to the quality of their star forward Kylian Mbappe. With 43 goals in all competitions this season, Mbappe is set to be the danger man once again.
