Champions League QF betting preview, free tips & top odds
After an exciting first leg of the quarterfinals, the UEFA Champions League returns for the second-leg fixtures this week. Below are our free soccer betting tips for all four matches.
Barcelona v Paris Saint-Germain
Wednesday, April 17 – 5am AEST – Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys
Aggregate score: 3-2
After a thrilling first leg, Barcelona have brought back a one-goal lead and are now favoured to go through to the next stage at -400 with top soccer betting sites. They are now on a run of 13 matches unbeaten in all competitions, and after playing a heavily rotated side in their La Liga clash on Saturday, expect them to be well rested.
While PSG were arguably the stronger side in the first leg, they were vulnerable on the break, which should continue as they press for a match-winning goal. As a result, watch out for young Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal, who excels in fast-break situations with his speed and dribbling ability.

Borussia Dortmund v Atletico Madrid
Wednesday, April 17 – 5am AEST – Signal Iduna Park
Aggregate score: 1-2
Atletico Madrid took command of the first leg at home with two early goals before they settled in defensively. Now favoured to make it through at -250 with Marantelli Bet, expect a similar gameplan as they face the tough conditions of the ‘Yellow Wall’.
Both sides enter the match with mixed domestic form, which makes this match hard to predict. Given Atleti’s European pedigree, expect them to scrape through with the aggregate victory.
Draw
Bayern Munich v Arsenal
Thursday, April 18 – 5am AEST – Allianz Arena
Aggregate score: 2-2
After the two sides couldn’t be split in an end-to-end clash at the Emirates, Arsenal head to Munich needing to pull off an upset to make it through. With Bayern officially losing the Bundesliga title race last weekend, the Champions League is now their only chance at silverware this season.
With just two losses at home all season, Bayern also have much more European experience than Arsenal, but injuries to Alphonso Davies, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are a concern for the German side. As such, expect a similar match to the first leg with plenty of scoring, as both sides have elite attacking quality.
Over 2.5 goals
Manchester City v Real Madrid
Thursday, April 18 – 5am AEST – Etihad Stadium
Aggregate score: 3-3
It was a memorable first leg between arguably the two best sides in the Champions League as they combined for six quality goals. Top of the Premier League after a drama-filled weekend, Manchester City’s chances of securing back-to-back trebles are well and truly alive, and online bookmakers have them as -303.03 favourites to reach the UCL semifinals.
The EPL giants are unbeaten at home this season, but given Real Madrid’s history in the Champions League, it is hard to bet against them — no matter the opposition. Even so, City winger Phil Foden looms as the one to watch after scoring in his past four Champions League starts.
