Champagne Cuddles keeps unbeaten record
Champagne Cuddles has continued a promising start to her career in maintaining an unbeaten record at Randwick.
The two-year-old made light work of the heavy track a heavy 10 to claim the Club Redfern Plate (1000m) with ease.
Jason Collett brought Champagne Cuddles along the inside and the $2.10 favourite scored by 2-1/4 lengths from Lipizzan ($2.50).
“I guess it was relief more than anything, first-up one trial after eight months,” said trainer Bjorn Baker’s racing manager Jack Bruce.
“She’s a very talented filly. She’s put her best foot forward. I don’t think she handled the ground but she got the got the job done.
“She goes best on top of the ground, I guess class got her through.”
