Caulfield options for Royal Applause
Royal Applause (left) has several options as she aims for her fourth consecutive win.
Royal Applause formed part of a winning city double for trainer Symon Wilde at her most recent start and the mare is now set to chase a fourth-straight victory when she heads to Caulfield.
Wilde has Royal Applause nominated for three races at the Caulfield meeting which has been rescheduled to Sunday because of expected high temperatures in Melbourne on Saturday.
The mare is also nominated for the Koroit Cup at Warrnambool on Sunday but Wilde is planning to run Royal Applause at Caulfield.
“I think at this stage it will either be the 1800-metre race for fillies and mares and claim or the 1600-metre race without a claim,” Wilde said.
“We’ll just weigh it up.”
The other Caulfield race Royal Applause is nominated in is a 2000m benchmark-78.

Acceptances are taken on Wednesday morning.
Royal Applause has 55.5kg in the 1600m benchmark 84 in which in-form Widgee Turf has equal topweight of 60kg with Bel Burgess.
The five-year-old mare has equal top weight of 60.5kg in the 1800m fillies and mares benchmark-78.
Royal Applause won at Ballarat three starts ago and then added back-to-back wins at Moonee Valley.
Her narrow victory on December 23 at Moonee Valley was her first Saturday city win and came on the same day stablemate Straight Jacket also won.
Wilde also has five-year-old gelding Floral Fever nominated in two Caulfield races but he is expected to run in the Koroit Cup.
