Castelvecchio returns to best in Guineas
Castelvecchio has saved his best for the first middle-distance test of his autumn campaign in winning the Rosehill Guineas.
Unplaced in two runs since finishing second in last year’s Cox Plate, Castelvecchio relished the 2000m to fend off Prince Fawaz in the $600,000 race.
The Guineas is Castelvecchio’s second Group One win after he took out the ATC Champagne Stakes as a two-year-old.
