Roosters v Bulldogs NRL R5 preview
Friday night football for round five of the NRL kicks off at Accor Stadium with the Canterbury Bulldogs hosting the Sydney Roosters.
The Bulldogs and Roosters have managed just one win each this season, both in round three. Canterbury smashed the Titans 32-0 before going down to the Rabbitohs last Friday, while Sydney pumped Souths 48-6 and then lost to the Panthers in round four.
The Bulldogs will be missing both Jacob Preston (jaw) and Josh Addo-Carr (concussion), with Blake Wilson and Josh Curran taking their respective starting spots. Coach Cameron Ciraldo has named Harrison Edwards to come off the bench along with Kitione Kautoga, who will make his NRL debut.
Roosters coach Trent Robinson will welcome back front-rower Lindsay Collins from a hamstring injury. Terrell May drops back to the bench, while Angus Crichton has been promoted to the starting side for Sitili Tupouniua.

Bulldogs v Roosters betting predictions
Although the Sydney Roosters have won nine of their last 10 matches against the Bulldogs, they’ve drifted from -400 out to -277.78 in the early betting. Meanwhile, over a dozen sides that have played the Panthers one week have gone on to cover the line in their next match. The Roosters should win the middle third of the field comfortably and go on to cover the -10.5 handicap at -111.11.
Daniel Tupou has had a brilliant start to the season for the Roosters with five line breaks, 10 tackle breaks and two tries in four matches. The star winger has also scored a try in three of his last four matches against the Canterbury Bulldogs at Accor Stadium. He will be marking up against Connor Tracey, who is not a regular winger at first-grade level, so there is great value at $2.20 for Tupou to score a try at any time.
In four matches to start the season, Roosters captain James Tedesco has broken 24 tackles and three defensive lines, scored four tries, and averaged 178 run metres per game. He has also scored at least one try in each of his last four matches against the Bulldogs. At +135 with Marantelli Bet, Tedesco looks a great play in the anytime tryscorer market.
