Canterbury Bulldogs will be hoping their spiritual home of Belmore Sports Ground can give them a boost when they clash with St George Dragons in NRL round 12 on Sunday afternoon.
The Dragons are coming off the back of a win over the Warriors, while the Bulldogs will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak at home.
The Dragons welcome back veteran hooker Andrew McCullough via the interchange bench, while the Bulldogs welcome back rookie and veteran wingers, Jacob Kiraz and Josh Addo-Carr. The big question is, will a return to Belmore bring a return to winning ways for Canterbury?
The Dragons will be playing at Belmore for the first time in the clubs history on Sunday, looking to close the gap in wins between the two clubs. In 42 clashes the Dragons have only won on 16 occasions.
The Dragons have been backed since betting sites opened markets, shortening from $1.73 into as short as $1.52. But there is value to be had with the Bulldogs, who welcome back youth, vigour and experience. $2.40 is great value for a team with a lot to play for given the events of recent weeks.
KEY MATCH UP: JOSH ADDO-CARR v MIKAELE RAVALAWA
Both of these veteran wingers have years of NRL experience under their belt and know all too well what it takes to be successful. Sunday they’ll be tasked with leading struggling sides to victory and have the tools to do so. Both players have an incredible ability to generate enormous kick return metres, as well as steal cheap metres from dummy half leading their team from their own end. Not only this, but both players will find themselves centre pieces of the attack for their respective sides. Whoever has a better game at both ends of the field will be able to dictate the outcome of this clash.
Bulldogs v Dragons tips
Josh Addo-Carr to score anytimeBulldogs to score 20+ points
In three of the last four weeks, despite all the issues the Bulldogs have had, defence is hardly one of them. The Bulldogs have kept sides like the Knights and Raiders to below 20 points, sides comparative to the Dragons, as well as the Roosters who are a much higher calibre of team. Look for this trend to continue and back the Bulldogs in scoring markets as the only side to score 20+ points paying $4.60.
