Round 6, 2024: Broncos v Dolphins preview
Friday night NRL action for round six wraps up with a blockbuster match in Brisbane as the Broncos host the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium.
The Broncos will be looking to bounce back from a shattering loss to the Storm in Melbourne, while the Dolphins will be determined to secure their position at the top of the NRL ladder with a win over their ‘big brother’.
Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters will be without captain Adam Reynolds (hamstring) and winger Deine Mariner (back) due to injury. In a huge boost, however, superstar fullback Reece Walsh returns from a facial injury, with Tristan Sailor moving to the bench. Corey Oates replaces Mariner on the wing, Jock Madden lines up at halfback for Reynolds, and Xavier Willison joins the bench in place of rookie forward Ben Te Kura.
Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett has also made multiple changes to his side, with Herbie Farnworth (arm), Felise Kaufusi (hamstring) and Kurt Donoghue (suspended) all out. Tesi Niu starts in the centres, Kenneath Bromwich lines up in the second row, and Anthony Milford is on the bench with Jarrod Wallace.

Broncos v Dolphins NRL R6 predictions
The Broncos have plunged from +120 into -303.03 since betting markets opened. Brisbane are yet to lose to the NRL’s newest team, and they have posted some big winning margins in their last five Friday games at home. With a stronger forward pack and the return of their gun fullback, the Broncos should secure another win by 13 or more points at +130 with Marantelli Bet.
While Broncos centre Selwyn Cobbo has only scored one try this season, he could easily have had a few more from intercepts but for some costly errors. The Queensland representative has scored four tries in his two matches against the Dolphins, including a hat-trick in their last match at The Gabba. At +825 with online bookmakers, there is great value in Cobbo to score a double.
Jesse Arthars had a phenomenal end to the 2023 NRL season and has maintained that form this year. Five line breaks and 12 tackle breaks for the season with 127 run metres per game have seen Arthars score four tries already. NRL betting sites are giving us good odds of +102 for Arthars to score his fifth try of the season on Friday night.
