Sunday afternoon NBL continues at 3pm when the Brisbane Bullets host the competition leaders, the Sydney Kings. The Bullets are playing their first home game of the season and will be desperate for the home crowd support to get them over the line against a Kings side who had won three in a row before losing in a close one to the Taipans on Friday night.
The last time these two sides met, the Bullets were tied with the Kings at 3 quarter time before the Kings blew them off the court in the 4th to win by 10 points. A combination of poor discipline and poor shooting led to the Bullets downfall.
The Kings do come into this match as red hot favourites, and rightfully so, but the Bullets will be desperate to get their first win of the season. With home court advantage and former NBA stars Tyler Johnson and Aaron Baynes on the court with Nathan Sobey, the Bullets will surely take lessons into Sunday’s match and be smart enough to get the win paying $2.50 with the top betting sites.
That combination of Johnson, Baynes and Sobey has the potential to be one of the league’s most dangerous as all three players can shoot from the perimeter and get to the basket. Add into the mix Jason Cadee coming off the bench to attack fatiguing defenders and the Bullets can be a constant offensive threat. Should the Bullets put all these pieces together, they should be able to lead at half time by 1-10 points paying $3.
When these two sides last playing the match totalled 190 points in what was a highly entertaining game. It’s not just the Bullets who have the offensive weapons to score at will as the Kings have Derrick Walton Jr along with captain Xavier Cooks and Dejan Vasiljevic who have come into strong form recently. This should see the total match points go above 175.5 at $1.90.
KEY MATCH UP: Tyler Johnson v Dejan Vasiljevic
The battle between these two starting guards may go under the radar but will be one to watch. Both players can be dangerous 3 point shooters as Johnson showed against the JackJumpers and Vasiljevic against the Hawks to start his season. Should they shoot well from deep, they will space the floor for their team mates to create opportunities inside and outside the 3 point line and apply pressure to the opposition’s defence. Whoever of these two guards shoots the ball better on Sunday will be key in their side’s winning chances.
