Big numbers set for gallops at the Valley
Cox Plate favourite and defending champion Winx will be the star attraction at the Breakfast with the Best at Moonee Valley.
Trainer Chris Waller has indicated the mare, chasing her 13th straight victory, will be an early worker at the track on Tuesday morning.
Winx is scheduled to work between 6.30 and 7am and is one of four Cox Plate entrants down to gallop before Tuesday’s barrier draw.
The others are the David Vandyke-trained Yankee Rose, Happy Clapper from the Pat Webster yard and Awesome Rock for Leon and Troy Corstens.
Winx is the $2 Cox Plate favourite ahead of Hartnell who has shortened to $2.80 while Black Heart Bart, Yankee Rose and French horse Vadamos share the third line at $15.
Five sprinters entered for Friday night’s Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley are also scheduled to work on Tuesday morning.
They are the Waller-trained Japonisme, Holler from John O’Shea’s stable, Capitalist for Peter and Paul Snowden, English for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott along with Robert Smerdon’s Under The Louvre.
All up 60 horses entered for Friday night and Saturday are scheduled to gallop at the track on Tuesday morning.
