Betting tips for the NRL Round 8 multi of the week
ONE thing is for certain heading into the second month of the NRL season, the Penrith Panthers are close to being irrelevant in 2017.
After entering the season as the $7 joint favourites at Spotsbet.com.au, the Panthers are now $13 for the premiership and $1.80 to miss the eight.
BettingSite.com.au regulars can rest assured they will not be featured as a prediction for the foreseeable future after letting us down time and time again over the opening two months.
We are confident we have unlocked the multi code this weekend to bounce back to winning form, and what better time to do it prior to a public holiday?
All odds for the eighth week of the NRL action were provided by Sportsbet.com.au.
Selections for the Round 5 NRL multi of the week:
Canberra Raiders to beat Manly Sea Eagles ($1.26)
Brisbane Broncos to beat South Sydney Rabbitohs ($1.45)
Cronulla Sharks to defeat Gold Coast Titans ($1.27)
Melbourne Storm to win against the New Zealand Warriors ($1.30)
Combined multi value: $3.01 @ Sportsbet.com.au
Canberra Raiders vs. Manly Sea Eagles
Friday, April 21 from 6 pm AEST, GIO Stadium, Canberra
Friday night football returns to the nation’s capital as the Raiders host the Sea Eagles in an important match for both sides.
The Raiders started the season slowly but are now starting to hit top gear. Their hard fought win over the Warriors last week showcased just how gritty they can be to complement the attacking flair they possess.
Manly came home like a steam-train last week against the Melbourne but failed to register the win.
The Green Machine comes into this match in much better form and we are backing the home side to get us off to the perfect start.
Canberra Raiders to win – $1.26
South Sydney Rabbitohs vs. Brisbane Broncos
Friday, April 21 from 7.50 pm AEST, ANZ Stadium, Sydney
The second of the Friday matches sees the Broncos traveling south to face the Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium.
The Broncos are in sensational form after recording back-to-back wins against the Roosters and the Titans. They are starting to recapture the early season form from last year that had them amongst the premiership favourites.
The Rabbitohs are facing an uphill battle just to make the finals. A loss on Friday night would leave the Bunnies with just three wins to their name after eight rounds.
This one looks clear cut on paper. The Broncos should win and keep us going into the third leg.
Brisbane Broncos to win – $1.45
Cronulla Sharks vs. Gold Coast Titans
Saturday, April 22 from 7.40 pm AEST, Southern Cross Stadium, Sydney
The in-form reigning premiers host the struggling Gold Coast Titans in a match that looks to be a formality on paper.
The Sharks have beaten the Panthers and the Storm in consecutive weeks. Cronulla is looking every part of the premiership winning team that they were in 2016.
The Titans have been dismal so far this campaign. Gold Coast were expecting to be an outside chance for the finals this year, but they currently sit anchored to the bottom of the ladder alongside the Knights with just two points to their name.
Cronulla is traveling beautifully and the Titans are in freefall, this one looks easy to predict and we are happy to let the Sharks swim us into the final leg.
Cronulla Sharks to win – $1.27
Melbourne Storm vs. New Zealand Warriors
Tuesday, April 25 from 7 pm AEST, AAMI Park, Melbourne
The traditional ANZAC Day clash between the Storm and the Warriors rounds out our multi this week, and we believe the home side will finish us off in style on Tuesday.
The Storm have just one loss to their name so far this season, but there is question marks on their ball handling skills. Melbourne was less than convincing last week against the Sea Eagles, but still managed to hold on.
The Warriors simply need to win. After recording back-to-back wins the Kiwis were thoroughly outclassed by the Raiders. A victory on Tuesday would square their ledger at 4-4.
We are backing the home side in. Melbourne rarely lose at home and they should have too much in the locker for the Warriors.
Melbourne Storm to win – $1.30
