Bengals v Ravens NFL Week 10 game preview

The Baltimore Ravens welcome the Cincinnati Bengals this Friday (AEDT) for a blockbuster AFC North matchup to kick off Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season.

After a slow start to the season, the Bengals have turned their form around with three wins from their last four games. Last week, they beat the Raiders 41-24 after quarterback Joe Burrow threw five touchdowns, with tight end Mike Gesicki racking up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

With a record of 4-5, the Bengals are still a long way off a playoff push, but recent signs have been promising. Burrow leads an offense that ranks in the top six for points, while Ja’Marr Chase has the most receiving touchdowns and second-most receiving yards in the NFL.

However, Cincinnati’s rushing game has struggled, while they have a bottom-five defense. As such, they are clear underdogs this week at +220 with BetOnline.

Bengals tight end Erick All has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury, while defensive tackle B.J. Hill is also in doubt after suffering a rib injury against the Raiders. Skill-position trio Tee Higgins (quad), Zack Moss (neck) and Charlie Jones (groin) missed Sunday’s game and have not practiced this week.

The Ravens continued their strong form in Week 9, easily dealing with the Broncos 41-10. In a strong offensive showing, two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson starred once again with 280 passing yards and three touchdowns. Running back Derrick Henry added two touchdowns and 106 yards on the ground, while wide receiver Zay Flowers had five receptions for 127 yards and two touchdowns.

Winning six of their last seven games, the Ravens are right in the mix for the playoffs at 6-3. Baltimore are the highest-scoring team in the NFL, yet they also have the worst pass defense. With a record of 3-1 at home this season, top NFL bookmakers have the Ravens as favourites at -270.27.

Defensive end Brent Urban (concussion) and tight end Isaiah Likely (hamstring) are in doubt for the Ravens, as they did not practice this week. In more positive news, running back Keaton Mitchell is a chance to play his first game of the season.

Bengals v Ravens betting strategy

Last time these two teams faced off, the Ravens came from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to secure an overtime win. With the Cincinnati passing game facing off against the Baltimore rush, expect another thrilling encounter. Divisional games are often hard-fought affairs, particularly in the AFC North, so back the Bengals to keep this game close and cover the line of +6 at -111.11 with leading online sportsbooks.

As the highest-scoring team in the NFL, all but one game involving the Ravens this season has gone over the total points line. Similarly, six of the Bengals’ last eight games have gone over. Although it is a high line of 52.5 points, the offensive quality in both these teams suggests the over is the right bet at -111.11 with top sports betting sites.

Baltimore tight end Mark Andrews has found form in the last month, scoring four touchdowns in as many games. As Likely is in doubt with a hamstring injury, expect Andrews to have an increased target share — particularly around the endzone. The Bengals have allowed four touchdowns to tight ends in the last five weeks, so back Andrews to score at +225 with BetOnline.
