Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers BBL13 preview
The Big Bash League season continues on Wednesday night as the top two teams in the competition face off at the Gabba. Here are our tips and preview for Match 32 between the Brisbane Heat and the Perth Scorchers:
Facing the Hobart Hurricanes last Sunday night, the Brisbane Heat kept their perfect record intact with a thrilling 1-run win. In a rain-affected clash, Colin Munro continued his excellent form with the bat, while Xavier Bartlett took three wickets to become the league leader. But it was English all-rounder Paul Walter who was the match winner, scoring 22 runs and taking two wickets while restricting the Hurricanes in the final over. The Heat are now practically guaranteed a home final and are now set to be boosted by the return of test stars Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne into the batting line-up.
The Perth Scorchers secured their fifth win of the season on Monday as they comfortably dealt with the Thunder by seven wickets. In a match dominated by the spinners, Ashton Agar was incredibly impressive, taking 2/6 off his four overs, while Cooper Connolly also took three wickets. The win showcased another dangerous aspect of the Scorchers, who are known for their excellent pace attack. As two-time defending champions, the Scorchers are set for another charge towards the finals.

Adelaide Strikers vs Hobart Hurricanes betting predictions
A replay of last season’s BBL final, the Heat will be keen to avenge the result on their home deck. But the Scorchers will be confident, having won nine of the past ten matches between the sides. The Heat are undefeated so far this tournament, but facing the strongest side in the Big Bash, we think that the Scorchers will have too much quality at -128.21 with Neds.
Leading the Big Bash with 13 wickets, Heat fast bowler Xavier Bartlett is having a breakout tournament. In his six matches so far, he has taken at least one wicket in each and has eight wickets from his three appearances at the Gabba. With the strength of the Scorchers batting line-up, Bartlett’s quality should shine through as he leads the Heat for wickets at +350 with top online bookmakers.
With just one wicket from their past two matches, expect a big turnaround from the Scorchers pace attack, in particular Lance Morris. Called ‘The Wild Thing’ for his explosive pace, Morris sits fourth in the BBL for wickets despite playing just five matches. On a Gabba deck that traditionally favours the quicker bowlers, expect Morris to be expensive but also a constant threat. We like him for 2+ wickets at +130 with top cricket betting sites.
