Bailey to give evidence at Nikolic appeal
Racing Victoria chief steward Terry Bailey will testify about his run-ins with Danny Nikolic after the jockey accused him of being corrupt and dishonest.
Bailey is expected to give evidence on Friday to Nikolic’s appeal to regain his jockey licence.
Nikolic was outed for two years for threatening Bailey at a September 2012 race meeting before copping a further penalty for offensive conduct towards another steward.
Giving evidence in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal this week, Nikolic denied threatening Bailey at the Seymour meeting but said he spoke to him poorly.
He told the court Bailey threatened to destroy his career and was corrupt and dishonest.
The 41-year-old says he will relocate to Queensland if he is relicensed.
“By relocating I won’t have to put myself in the firing line of Terry Bailey and his henchmen so to speak,” Nikolic said.
